LiquidBounce.net is temporarily offline
We are currently dealing with an abuse report from Mojang. As a precaution, we have taken
liquidbounce.net offline while we investigate.
Until this is resolved, our website won't be accessible.
Updated 17 October 2026
Why we think the claim is baseless
The notice names only our homepage as the infringing URL and minecraft.net as a whole as the
original work. It points to no file, page, image or line of code, and its field for evidence is
empty. liquidbounce.net does not host or distribute any content, files or software from Minecraft
or Mojang.
It was filed on behalf of Microsoft by Tracer, a brand protection company that uses AI agents to
detect and take down alleged infringements. We are not the first project to get a notice like
this from them. This year, Tracer got the indie game Allumeria pulled from Steam and the
open-source game engine Luanti pulled from Google Play, which had already received a similar
notice from Tracer in 2023. Neither notice named any specific infringing material, and Microsoft
later withdrew both.
Luanti’s Android app is currently not available on the Google Play Store due to a baseless DMCA
notice filed on behalf of Microsoft by Tracer.AI, alleging that Luanti infringes Minecraft’s
copyright. The Luanti app does not contain any proprietary code or assets, from Minecraft or
otherwise.
If a company can repeatedly submit the same DMCA notice with no explanation or evidence, taking
projects down for months at a time, the system is broken.
We call on Microsoft, Mojang, and Tracer.AI to stop relying on AI tools to send inaccurate and
vague DMCA notices. Detection must be verified by a human and, more importantly, substantiated
with tangible proof.

Microsoft's copyright claim cites a screenshot from Allumeria […] alongside one from Minecraft
without any specific similarities beyond using voxels.
Valve will automatically take a game off Steam if a DMCA is issued against it, so this all could
just be a bunch of robots reacting with little to no actual humans examining the circumstances.

has revoked the DMCA takedown that forced an indie Minecraft-like off Steam
Why the website stays offline anyway
We think this claim is baseless, and we could probably just keep hosting our website. In practice,
we can't. Cloudflare passes every complaint it receives straight on to our hosting provider, and
Tracer can send yet another automated notice at any time and take our servers down again.
OVHcloud had already suspended our server for "Hacked", which caused a disruption in our services.
We are moving our websites to a new hoster, but even that is too high a risk.
A small team can't fight notices like this the way a large corporation can file them. The
developer of Allumeria described the same position:
The safest thing to do is just roll over and die basically. Allow them to delete the game. If I do
fight it, then i could be ruined by a large corporation.
Unomelon, developer of Allumeria, on the Allumeria Discord
liquidbounce.net stays offline until the complaint is withdrawn or Tracer names specific material
that we can review.

Our reply to OVHcloud
Hello OVHcloud Trust & Safety team,
Thank you for forwarding this report.
As an immediate precaution, we have taken the website liquidbounce.net offline on our server (██████████). It is currently not reachable.
We are investigating the complaint. According to our current knowledge, liquidbounce.net does not host or distribute any content, files or software resources from minecraft.net or Mojang. The complaint only names our homepage as the reported URL and "minecraft.net" in general as the original work. It does not identify any specific allegedly infringing material, so we cannot yet tell what it refers to.
We are asking the complainant, through Cloudflare, to specify the exact content and the copyrighted work concerned. Once we have that information:
- If any material is actually infringing, we will remove it permanently before bringing the site back online.
- If the complaint turns out to be unfounded, we will respond to the complainant accordingly, for example with a counter-notification, and restore the site.
We will keep you informed if the situation changes. Please let us know if you need anything else from us.
Kind regards,
Marco Beyer

Our reply to Cloudflare
Hello Cloudflare Trust & Safety team,
We are the operator of liquidbounce.net. Our hosting provider, OVHcloud, forwarded us a DMCA complaint you received from ██████████ (Tracer, ██████████) on behalf of Mojang.
As a precaution, we have taken the website offline while we investigate.
However, the complaint does not let us identify any allegedly infringing material:
Reported URL: only our homepage, https://liquidbounce.net
Original work: only https://www.minecraft.net/ in general
To our knowledge, liquidbounce.net does not host or distribute any content, files or software resources from minecraft.net or Mojang.
A valid notification under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)(A)(ii)–(iii) must identify the copyrighted work and the specific material claimed to be infringing, with enough information to locate it. The complaint as received does neither.
We would therefore appreciate it if you could forward this request to the complainant, asking them to provide:
1. The exact URL(s) or location of the allegedly infringing material on liquidbounce.net
2. The specific copyrighted work(s) claimed to be infringed
Once we receive this information, we will review it promptly. We will remove any material that actually infringes, or respond with a counter-notification if the claim is unfounded.
Kind regards,
Marco Beyer
